Papadakis Andreas, Assistant Professor, ASPETE

Andreas Papadakis (Dr. – Ing.) holds a Diploma and a PhD in Electrical and Computer engineering both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Electronics Educators in the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE), Athens, Greece. He is responsible (teaching) for seven (7) modules in the area of Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing and Digital TV and Radio communications and he is responsible of the corresponding laboratory. In the past, he has worked as scientific expert in the Greek Ministry of Interior, on the adoption of new technologies, with emphasis on cryptography and digital signatures. He has worked as project manager in PLANET Ernst and Young (the leading consulting firm in South East Europe) in the area of RTD EU projects (indicatively, he has been the project manager, on behalf of the company, for the EU project LABORANOVA: Collaboration environment for strategic innovation, budget 10M€). He has also worked as technical manager Archetypon SA (company awarded with “Europe 500 company award” in 2001 and 2002). Indicatively, has been technically coordinating the IST RTD ENAMORADO project, in the area of multimedia coding and streaming. He has worked as research associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer engineering (DECE) of NTUA. Overall he has been involved in more than 10 EU RTD projects Regarding his teaching experience, Andreas has delivered modules in the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA- DECE) and the Technological Education Institutes of Athens (TEI of Athens) and Piraeus (TEI of Piraeus). He is the author of 30 articles in international journals and conferences and the editor of book chapters. He is an active reviewer of IEEE Communications magazine and he is also participating in the technical committee of international (IEEE) conferences (currently in the PCI 2011). He has also participated (as a co-author of a green paper) in PARLAY standardization activities.
